Terms of Service


  1. Definitions and Interpretations In these Conditions:

    The Customer means the person whose order for the Goods and Services is accepted by the Supplier.
    Commencement Date means the date on which the first payment is received from the Customer.
    The Contract means the standard terms and conditions of sale set out in this document.
    The Delivery Date means the time and date by which the Goods and Services are to be delivered, which may be extended where required by the Supplier, provided the Customer is promptly informed of the new time and/or date.
    The Goods means the goods which the Supplier is to supply to the Customer in accordance with these Conditions.
    The Services means the services to be provided to the Customer as set out on the Website.
    The Supplier means Jehz Sofas (Proprietary) Limited, a private company incorporated in South Africa with registration number 2015/389729/07.
    The Website means Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd website at www.jehzsofas.com which may be updated from time to time.

  2. Basis of Sale and Service

    The Customer is deemed to make an offer to the Supplier by placing an order for the Goods and Services by either completing the relevant information on the Website or by approaching the Supplier by other means.
    The Contract is concluded once the Supplier has received acceptable proof of receipt of the Customer’s payment.
    The Contract is concluded at the initiative of the Customer and does not result from direct marketing.
    No change to the Contract will be binding unless agreed in writing between the Customer and an authorised representative of the Supplier.
    By placing the order or signing up on the Website, the Customer grants Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd the right to send marketing material and other correspondence related to the Goods and Services. To opt out, email admin@jehzsofas.com.
    Any typing, clerical or other accidental errors or omissions in any document issued by Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd may be corrected without liability.
    Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd may cancel an order if circumstances require and will only be liable to refund monies already paid in respect of such cancelled orders.

  3. Special Orders

    Quotations will be provided for all custom orders and back orders ("special orders"). It is your responsibility to verify all information on the quotation before Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd places an order with its suppliers or manufacturers.
    A deposit of 70% (or as determined by Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd) is required in advance. Special orders may not be cancelled prior to delivery unless permitted at the Supplier's discretion; cancelled special orders will forfeit any deposit paid.
    For products not yet produced, a handling fee of up to 20% may be charged in accordance with CPA regulations.
    Lead times depend on product availability and supplier performance. Anticipated lead times will be stated on the sales order. Products subject to special order may differ from samples due to handmade processes.
    For special requests or modifications, Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd will require sign-off on drawings before manufacture. Delivery times and costs may differ accordingly.

  4. The Goods and Services

    Illustrations, photographs or descriptions on the Website or in brochures are guides only. The Customer may rely only on descriptions or samples of the specific Goods ordered.
    Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd reserves the right to change specifications to comply with safety or statutory requirements or where changes do not materially affect quality or performance.
    If unavoidable delays occur (e.g., labour stoppage, weather, contractor delays, power interruption or customer-caused delays), Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd will inform the Customer and will not be in breach of contract as a result.
    Stock quantities are limited. Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd will make reasonable efforts to update availability; if unable to fulfil an order, the Supplier will refund monies paid.
    The Supplier records that the Customer has not informed it of a particular purpose for which the Goods are acquired.
    The Supplier will not be liable for theft, loss or damage of the Customer’s property unless caused by the Supplier’s recklessness.

  5. Price

    The price shall be the price reflected on the Website at the date of acceptance of the Customer’s order.
    The Supplier may increase the price before delivery to reflect cost increases beyond its control (e.g., exchange fluctuations, changes in duties, significant increases in labour or materials) or changes requested by the Customer.
    Unless otherwise stated, prices include packaging and transport charges.
    Prices on the Website are inclusive of VAT (currently 15%).

  6. Payment

    Time of payment is a material term. Failure to pay when due may render the transaction void.
    All payments must be made to Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd via EFT after receiving sales confirmation. An invoice will be provided as receipt.
    Transactions may be refused if legitimacy is not established; the Customer will be notified to arrange alternative payment if necessary.
    Full payment of price and delivery charges is required before products are delivered or collected. Goods remain the property of Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd until payment is received in full.
    For EFT payments, forward proof of payment to admin@jehzsofas.com. Allow up to 3 business days for EFT confirmation. Goods will only be released once funds have cleared.
    Retain your invoice as proof of purchase. No returns, exchanges or refunds will be considered without the original invoice.

  7. Delivery and Performance

    A delivery fee applies and will be shown on the invoice in accordance with Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd policy.
    Customers may elect to collect goods from a distribution centre or retail store, subject to product and store availability.
    All risk in the Product passes to the Customer upon delivery or collection.
    If delivery is not taken after reasonable courier attempts, the Goods will be retained for 8 weeks and then may be treated as abandoned.
    The service does not remove doors, security gates or dismantle furniture. The Customer guarantees access. If access prevents delivery, goods may be left at the Customer’s premises and will no longer be the Supplier's responsibility.
    If goods must be returned to the warehouse due to the Customer's failure to receive them, a repeat delivery fee will be charged.
    Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd is not responsible for damage caused by access restrictions.
    The Customer is responsible for ensuring goods fit through stairs, doorways and passages and for removal of windows or doors if required.

  8. Passing of Ownership, Care Instructions and Product Recall

    Ownership does not pass to the Customer until the Supplier has received full payment in cash or cleared funds for the Goods and Services and any other debt owed by the Customer.
    Customers should follow care instructions available on the Website.
    In the event of a product recall, the Customer agrees to assist the Supplier in recovering affected Goods.

  9. Product Assembly
    Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd is not responsible for items damaged due to incorrect assembly by the Customer. Such items will not be considered for returns or refunds.
  10. Warnings and Instructions

    Take care when unwrapping and disposing of packaging. Keep packaging away from children. Use appropriate tools (e.g., scissors) to remove packaging.
    Use rugs with an anti-slip underlay or secure them to avoid slipping on slippery surfaces.
    Products may stain adjacent materials if wet.
    Take reasonable precautions against fire. Goods may be flammable.

  11. Cooling Off Period
    Section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act may apply. Eligible consumers may cancel certain electronic transactions within seven days, return new unused goods and receive a refund. The only cost levied will be the direct cost of returning the goods.
  12. Colour / Variation of Goods
    Actual colours may vary from those shown on the Website depending on the device used to access the Website.
  13. Leather Products

    Leather products may have slight dye, shade and grain variations. Leather is natural and may stretch and crease over time.

    Leather cleaning instructions:

    Spot clean with a damp cloth.
    Do not use detergents.
    Avoid placing leather products in direct sunlight.
    Care spray and sealant recommended.


  14. Statutory Warranty
    Products are warranted to be reasonably suitable, of good quality and durable. Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd will only honour a warranty if:

    The defect existed at delivery and manifested during the warranty period;
    The defect did not arise from normal wear and tear or misuse/abuse;
    The Customer complied with care instructions on Jehzsofas.com;
    The original invoice is provided;
    The product was assembled in accordance with supplier specifications.

    Warranty provides for free repair or replacement of faulty components within the warranty period.
  15. Returns

    To request a return or exchange, give written notice within 10 business days of delivery and return Goods in original condition and packaging where possible, together with the original invoice. Provide photographic proof and full reasons for the claim.
    Proof of payment and a written reason for the return are required.
    Customers may choose store credit or exchange; refunds are not given.
    Exchanges cannot exceed the original purchase price.
    Products will be assessed for wear and tear before processing store credit or exchanges; charges for use may apply.
    Custom or made-to-order products are excluded from this Returns section; exchanges depend on availability.
    Returns and replacement requests must be made within 6 months of delivery (12 months for furniture).
    Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd is not liable for defects arising from fair wear and tear, negligence, abnormal use, improper storage, transport or cleaning contrary to instructions, misuse or alteration without approval, or acts of third parties.
    Cancelled or returned orders are subject to collection charges payable by the Customer, unless the goods are found to be faulty in a material respect.
    Non-defective goods may be considered for exchange or refund if unused, undamaged and returned within 30 days of delivery.
    Due to manufacturing: rugs (width variance ±3%), dye variations, and made-to-order items cannot be returned unless materially different from specifications.
    Goods cannot be returned for reasons that were disclosed to the Customer at purchase.

    Refunds (less applicable fees) are processed every Friday once banking details have been verified. Allow 2–4 business days for funds to reflect.
    For public health reasons, linen and bathroom goods cannot be returned or exchanged.

  16. Liability
    Except for harm caused by Jehz Sofas (Pty) Ltd's gross negligence, the Supplier will not be liable for damages, loss, costs, claims or expenses arising from the supply of Goods and/or Services.
  17. Force Majeure

    Neither party is liable for failure to perform due to events beyond its control (for example: war, national emergency, flood, earthquake, strike, lockout, severe weather, illness).
    If the incapacity exceeds six months, this Contract will automatically terminate unless the parties agree otherwise in writing.
    Each party remains liable for damages and costs incurred in enforcing its rights under the Contract.

  18. Waiver
    No waiver by the Supplier of any breach by the Customer shall be deemed a waiver of subsequent breaches.
  19. Severability
    If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
  20. Welcome 15% Off

  22. Resolution of Disputes
    Any dispute will be decided by arbitration at the Cape Town offices of the Arbitration Foundation of South Africa (AFSA) in terms of its rules. The arbitrator’s award may be made an order of court.
  23. Changes to Terms and Conditions
    We reserve the right to change these terms from time to time; changes will be reasonable and communicated to Customers with reasonable notice.
  24. Information Disclosure
    The following information is disclosed in terms of section 43 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA), 25 of 2002 and section 41 of the Close Corporations Act, 69 of 1984:
